A Decade of Growth

On April 22, 2014—10 years ago this month—the pilots of JetBlue Airways officially joined ALPA. No one knew at the time, but the addition of the 2,600-plus JetBlue pilots would represent a turning point for the Association.

Prior to 2014, ALPA’s membership numbers had been relatively level throughout the early 2010s as the industry rebounded from the recession. While there’ve been a few bumps along the way (see Coming and Going), the Association’s numbers have risen ever since the pilots of JetBlue voted for ALPA representation.

Let’s take a look at how the Association has grown in the 10 years since the addition of the JetBlue pilots—both in the number of pilot groups and the number of represented pilots.
