Notes

  • All time inputs support are hmm or hhmm. In iOS entering h:mm or h:mm is like entering 0. I do not like the inconsistency of not having h:mm or hh:mm, but this is so that the keyboard with the numbers row comes up in iOS.
  • I show hh:mm, but I use the full unrounded values behind the scenes. This might cause slightly strange looking results. For example 5 days at 2:00 might show as 10:02 because the calculation is really 5 * 2:00:29 = 10:02:25. I don't know where the company does the rounding, but the differences should be small if any.
  • ALPP days are treated as on call days for the purposes of pay calculation. For example, if this sheet calculates that you have 17 on call days and you have 2 ALPP days, 2 of the on call days would be taken by ALPP and PBS would have to place 15 more. However, ALPP days do not count as work when calculating the work block length for reserve line construction rules. For example: RES RES ALPP ALPP is a two day work block not a four day work block.
  • After PBS, On Call Days are valued at the reserve pro-rata share value (PWA 14.A.11) which is the reserve guarantee divided by the number of on call days in the month without correcting for absences. Thus ML, PD, APDs, SK days that overlap a reserve on call day will deduct this value for each day from the guarantee.
  • Carry in pairing days are treated as on call days with flying already assigned. For example, if this sheet calculates that you have 17 on call days and you have 3 carry in pairing days, those 3 carry in days count as on call and PBS would have to give you 14 more on call days when building your line. They have no effect on your pay unless the carry in credit exceeds the guarantee.
