Do You Have What It Takes to Join the A-Team?

ALPA’s Advocacy A-Team award recognizes members who contribute significant activity to grassroots and PAC causes. By taking initiative to complete all of the items in this checklist, any ALPA member can join our Advocacy A-Team.

This is not for the faint of heart—very few members meet the requirements each year. Will you be next?

 Join ALPA-PAC

Make a donation to ALPA’s Political Action Committee. All donations are used to educate decision makers in Washington, D.C., and build pilot-partisan majorities in the House and Senate. Learn more and donate.

  Become a Wingman

Once you join ALPA-PAC, talk to your fellow crewmembers and convince three of them to join too. Recruit wingmen.

  Answer the Call (to Action)

Visit our Advocacy page and click each “Call to Action.” We’ve drafted the letters; all you have to do is fill in your information to send them (you will be able to review the letter before pressing send) to your rep. Take action.

When ALPA posts a Call to Action or other legislative item on social media, share it with your followers. Share on Facebook  or Twitter.

  Become a District Advocate

We’ll provide training to teach you how to schedule and lead in-district advocacy visits with your Member of Congress. Contact Vanessa.Kermick@alpa.org.

  Meet Your Congressional Reps

Put your District Advocate training into action by taking ALPA’s pilot-partisan message to the lawmakers.

Capt. Gilles Charriere (UAL) (left) and F/O Robert Paul (UAL) talk to Congressman Pete Visclosky (D-IN, 1st).

  Attend the ALPA Legislative Summit

Open to all ALPA members, this annual event will enhance your legislative/political abilities, no matter your experience level. Register today

Not ready for the A-Team? Try to complete just a handful of these items. The first four are easy, and every little bit goes a long way to protect your career and keep flying safe.
