Lynx Air Pilots File Cards for ALPA Representation

OTTAWA, Ont.—Last week, an overwhelming majority of Lynx Air pilots filed membership cards with the Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) requesting to join the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA).

“We are excited to welcome Lynx Air pilots and continue our strong growth of pilot unionism across North America,” said ALPA president Capt. Jason Ambrosi. “We look forward to working with Lynx Air pilots to achieve their first collective agreement.”

Once the CIRB completes a review, ALPA will become the legal bargaining representative of the approximately 80 Lynx Air pilots who operate scheduled passenger services across Canada flying Boeing 737 aircraft. Headquartered in Calgary, Lynx Air serves 16 destinations with plans to grow.

“Lynx pilots will soon have access ALPA’s vast resources, and support from Canadian ALPA pilots from coast to coast, to achieve their goals. By joining the world’s largest airline pilot union, Lynx pilots will have a strong voice in their future, and together, we will further enhance our profession,” said Capt. Tim Perry, president of ALPA Canada.
