Cabin Air Quality Meeting

February 25, 2019 9:00 a.m.
ALPA Conference Center
Herndon, Va.

The ALPA Air Safety Organization’s (ASO) Aeromedical Group is hosting a one-day, ad hoc meeting on Cabin Air Quality (CAQ) on February 25, 2019. MEC support and attendance for this event is very important.

We are seeking support from all ALPA pilot groups to identify and send a representative from your MEC to participate in the meeting. If you are interested in attending, please coordinate with your MEC’s Aeromedical Committee chair, or the person responsible for cabin air quality at your MEC. This meeting has limited capacity and is restricted to ALPA members.

Last year ALPA participated in several activities to reinforce and support efforts to improve cabin air quality. ALPA’s president has directed ASO subject-matter experts and Engineering and Air Safety Department staff to continue their efforts and support for activities related to ensuring our pilots have a safe and healthy work environment.

The CAQ meeting will facilitate open, internal discussions/strategy and possible support of initiatives around research, education, standardized reporting, and data collection, plus legislative and/or regulatory activities around air quality events that can adversely affect our members.

If you have any questions about this issue, please contact Candace Kolander, Occupational Health, Safety and Security Specialist, 1-800-424-2470, Candace.Kolander@alpa.org.

ALPA’s Engineering & Air Safety Department is coordinating the arrangements for this meeting, including hotel accommodations. Please register as soon as possible but no later than January 28, 2019. Even if you do not have your February schedule by this deadline, please register online to reserve a room and cancel later if your schedule does not permit. Please do not call the hotel.
