2022-2023 ALPA AIRPORT SAFETY LIAISON AWARD

As the airport safety liaison for Washington National Airport since 2018, Capt. Robert Devadason has dedicated countless hours to building relationships with airport stakeholders and representing pilots’ perspectives at airport meetings.

Capt. Devadason participates in the airport’s Runway Safety Action Team meetings, an in-depth review of flight operations as well as runway excursion and incursion incidents. He ensures pilots’ views are heard on topics such as snow removal, construction, lighting, and resurfacing.

Drawing on the expertise of ALPA’s Airport and Ground Environment group, Devadason ensures that pilots at Washington National Airport receive the information they need to operate flights safely.
