Nearly 200 ALPA Members Live in Area Affected by Oklahoma Tornadoes

All of us at the Air Line Pilots Association, Int'l stand with those who have felt the effects of the disastrous tornadoes that have hit several communities outside Oklahoma City. Scenes of total devastation can be seen on news coverage of this tragedy as families cope with catastrophic losses. We are deeply concerned about our members and their families who may have been affected by the destruction that this horrible storm has caused. Our records indicate that 175 ALPA members live within a 100-mile radius of the area. We are working with individual MECs and mobilizing ALPA’s Critical Incident Response Program (CIRP) to help those in need.

Events like this demand that we all come together to help rebuild lives. If you and yours have been affected by these tornadoes, you can turn to the ALPA Emergency Relief Fund (AERF) for immediate financial assistance that can help you make it through this difficult time. Complete an online emergency relief application. If you have any questions or concerns about this process, please send an e-mail to Relief@alpa.org. If you know any pilots in need of assistance as a result of this disaster, please encourage them to apply to the fund.

The AERF was established in 2005 to provide ALPA members (both current and furloughed/inactive) and their families with immediate financial assistance after they suffer financial hardship as a result of natural or man-made disasters, such as flood, earthquake, hurricane, tornado, landslide, air crash, fire, drought, or civil disturbance.
