Letters of Solidarity

Unity works, but is rarely achieved ...

What happens when a group of pilots is beaten down by management and the industry?

What happens when a group of pilots are told that they must continue to accept concessions for the company to be successful?

What happens when you believe that there is nothing that you can do?

Try Unity.

Congratulations to the ALPA Pilots of Spirit!

Fraternally,

Captain James Magee
EGL SPC Chairman

Dear Captain Creed:

Yours has been a long and hard fought battle for a new contract. As your fight continues and you face the prospect of a strike, please know that the Continental MEC and the pilots of Continental remain steadfast with you in your efforts. We have been with you on the picket line and we will continue to support the Spirit MEC and the Spirit Pilots for as long as needed, in whatever form is needed. We hope that there is a quick resolution to negotiations leading to a new contract that properly reflects the contributions and professionalism of the Spirit Pilots.

We have had discussions with management to ensure that Continental will add no extra sections on flights, up-gauge aircraft or otherwise seek to gain from any strike called by the Spirit Pilots. We have additionally requested and received assurances from Continental management that Spirit Pilots will continue to receive jumpseat privileges on our aircraft in order to return home in the event of a strike. We will be with you in thought and on the picket line, offering our help until you receive the new contract that you justly deserve.

In Unity,

Captain Jay Pierce
Chairman, CAL MEC

To the Spirit Pilots:

We are proud of the stance you have taken to stop the race to the bottom. You make us proud to be ALPA pilots.
