Piedmont Pilots Elect New MEC Chair

McLEAN, Va.— The Piedmont Master Executive Council (MEC) of the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA) today announced it has elected a new MEC chair to lead the more than 675 pilots.

The voting members of the PDT MEC elected Capt. Ryan Miller to fill the vacancy that will be left by Capt. Brandon Lighty as he transitions to American Airlines through the flow program. Capt. Miller will take office Friday, November 12, and fulfill the remainder of the current term, which began February 24, 2021, and concludes February 23, 2023.

“I’m looking forward to supporting the Piedmont pilots in this new role,” said chair-elect Capt. Miller. “With midterm bargaining scheduled for January, we have a strong opportunity to improve our pilots’ quality of life.”

Capt. Miller previously served as the PDT MEC secretary-treasurer, leaving that role vacant.

Founded in 1931, ALPA is the largest airline pilot union in the world and represents more than 61,000 pilots at 38 U.S. and Canadian airlines. Visit the ALPA website at alpa.org or follow us on Twitter @ALPAPilots.
