Mesa Pilots Elect New Union Leadership Team

McLEAN, Va.—At a meeting in Houston, Tex., last week, the Mesa Airlines Master Executive Council (MEC) of the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA) elected new officers to lead the more than 1,350 pilots for a two-year term that starts November 15.

The voting members of the MEC elected Capt. Chris Gill as chair, Capt. Scott Norton as vice chair, Capt. Alan Godfrey as secretary, and Capt. Darrell Cox as treasurer.

“This is a strong, engaged officer group, committed to serving the best interests of our pilot group,” said reelected Chairman Chris Gill. “We look forward to a new contract that brings our airline up to industry standards and improves our pilots’ quality of life.”

This slate of officers will lead the pilot group as it progresses through negotiations, which began in earnest in June 2021, for an improved collective bargaining agreement. The union is seeking focused gains in key areas to attract and retain pilots.

Founded in 1931, ALPA is the largest airline pilot union in the world and represents more than 61,000 pilots at 38 U.S. and Canadian airlines. Visit the ALPA website at alpa.org or follow us on Twitter @ALPAPilots.
