Chicago Pilot Honored for Commitment to Advancing Safety

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA) today recognized FedEx Express Airlines Capt. Scott Schwartz with a Presidential Citation at its 65th Air Safety Forum.

“Capt. Schwartz’s dedication to his colleagues and to advancing the airline piloting profession is a stellar example of how one individual can impact an entire industry,” said Capt. He is a true asset to ALPA and a powerful advocate for aviation safety.”

In addition to his work as director of the ALPA Dangerous Goods Program, Capt. Schwartz also serves as chair of the International Federation of Air Line Pilots Associations (IFALPA) Dangerous Goods Committee, and was nominated by IFALPA to be on the International Civil Aviation Organization’s Dangerous Goods Panel. We are grateful for his long time service to the pilot group, ALPA, and the profession, and certainly to have him as a leader and pioneer for safety in the industry,” said Capt. Pete Harmon chairman of the FedEx Express branch of ALPA.
