Celebrate Girls in Aviation Day’s Fifth Year with ALPA Pilots

We are excited to inspire girls of today to look to the skies for their future during the fifth annual Girls in Aviation Day (GIAD) this weekend! Sponsored by Women in Aviation International (WAI), GIAD features a wide range of engaging speakers and activities to connect with girls ages 8 to 17, and events are scheduled not just in the United States and Canada, but all over the world on Saturday, October 5.

To celebrate, we launched a video to encourage the next generation of girls to join our ranks as professional airline pilots. ALPA is leading the charge to increase the number of women in aviation.

Please share our video with your friends and family on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter!

Ready to launch your career as an airline pilot? Resources are available through Cleared to Dream—an initiative launched by ALPA to provide information and outreach activities for those interested in the piloting profession. Our volunteers serve as mentors to students currently enrolled in aviation programs and visit primary and secondary schools to get students thinking about a career on the flight deck.
