Delta MEC Chairman
Captain Bartels is a Detroit-based B-757/767 pilot at Delta Air Lines. He was hired by Northwest in 1995 and has worked for seven airlines in his career. He has spent almost 18 years serving the Northwest/Delta pilots in various ALPA positions including Merger committee member, Council 20 Chairman and Vice-Chairman, Northwest MEC Vice Chairman and Delta MEC EVP.
Captain Bartels has a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from The University of Michigan. He has a wife and daughter and lives in Grosse Ile, MI.
Delta MEC Vice-Chairman
Captain Schnitzler is a NYC-based MD88 pilot at Delta Air Lines. He was hired by Delta in 2007 and has been very involved in ALPA, serving on the Delta MEC Contract Administration Committee and as the Council 108 Vice Chairman.
Captain Schnitzler has a Bachelor of Aviation Management from The Union Institute & University. He lives in Alexandria, KY with his wife Laura and two sons.
Delta MEC Secretary
Captain Brielmann is a NYC-based B717 pilot at Delta Air Lines. He started his career in aviation in high school, and began flying professionally in 1974 at the age of 18. In 1979 he was hired by Ransome Airlines which later became Pan American World Airways. He served as the Pan Am Council 19 Chairman, and most recently served two terms as Delta Council 66 Chairman. He has also served on the scheduling committee and the organizing committee at ALPA National.
Captain Brielmann has two daughters and lives in Westerly, R.I., with his wife Mervè.
Delta MEC Treasurer
Captain Bell is a Detroit-based A320 pilot at Delta Air Lines. He was hired by Republic Airlines in 1986. His involvement in ALPA includes two terms as Council 20 Secretary-Treasurer and served more than four years as a member of the Professional Standards Committee.
Captain Bell has a business degree from South Florida State College, and served our country as an Army Airborne Ranger. He lives in Elm Grove, Wisc., with two of his seven children.
