Statement from the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l on Bearskin Flight 311

Our thoughts are with those involved in the accident of Bearskin Airlines Flight 311 last night at Red Lake in northwestern Ontario. With sadness, we learned about the loss of both the captain and the first officer, along with three other souls onboard.

ALPA representatives from the Accident Investigation Board, Engineering and Air Safety and the Critical Incident Response Program (CIRP) have been dispatched and are enroute to support the pilot group with technical and CIRP assistance throughout the entire accident investigation process. As with any ongoing investigation, facts are still being gathered and we will not speculate on a cause nor will we comment directly on the accident.

Please keep the crew, passengers and their families in your thoughts during this difficult time.

ALPA represents nearly 50,000 pilots at 32 airlines in the United States and Canada.
