Dear Kalitta Air Crewmembers,

Welcome to the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l!

Today, the National Mediation Board (NMB) certified ALPA as your representative. Now that the NMB has certified the election results, ALPA is pleased to offer our services, resources, and benefits to you.

To take full advantage of those services, resources and benefits, you should apply for ALPA membership immediately

The membership application can be completed and submitted electronically, and we will do our best to process your applications quickly. You can also find the application and learn more about ALPA at www.alpa.org.  If you need any assistance completing the membership application, please contact our Membership Department at 1-888-FLY-ALPA, option 3 and 3.

Once you become an ALPA member, you will be able to participate in local council meetings, nominate and elect permanent local officers (and run for office yourself), provide direction on contract surveys, and be a part of other similar activities. Your participation and input will be essential to your success as an ALPA-represented airline.

ALPA membership comes with other valuable benefits, as well, including:

  • ALPA Worldwide Accident/Serious Incident Hotline
Any ALPA member involved in an accident, serious incident, or time-critical safety/security event may contact our 24-hour hotline at 202-797-4180 to reach a representative from our Engineering and Air Safety Department. Collect calls are accepted.
  • Aviation Medicine Advisory Service
If you are concerned about a medical problem that may affect your certification or are already dealing with FAA medical certification issues, please call ALPA’s Aeromedical Office at 303-341-4435 for free, confidential medical advice. Have your ALPA number on hand and visit aviationmedicine.com for more information.

  • Insurance Products
ALPA offers several Member Insurance products, including our popular Loss of License benefits. Learn more about the products, including what might fit best for you and your family on the ALPA Member Insurance website.

  • ALPA Smartphone/Tablet Apps
ALPA designed an app that allows you to check compliance with the Part 117 rest rule and avoid potential violations. Another app offers quick links to Known Crewmember locations at airports, the ALPA Worldwide Accident/Serious Incident Hotline, and more. Members can download both apps—available for iOS and Android devices.

In a few days, you’ll be hearing from Capt. William Couette, ALPA vice president–administration/secretary, who will detail the process for setting up an ALPA structure that will be run by Kalitta Air crewmembers. Until that structure can be established, please contact Ron Rindfleisch at Ron.Rindfleisch@alpa.org or 703-689-4179 if you have any questions or concerns.

Please Note: We have not yet gathered contact information for all Kalitta crewmembers, so we encourage you to check with your colleagues and forward this message to any Kalitta crewmembers who have not received it.

Welcome aboard!

Sincerely,

Capt. Tim Canoll
President
