Air Transat Pilots’ Tentative Agreement Vote Results

On March 21, Air Transat pilots voted in favor of ratifying a new collective agreement. Of the approximately 91 percent of pilots voting in the ballot, 82 percent voted in favor the agreement.

“Thank you to all who participated in the completion of the new contract,” said the Air Transat Master Executive Council and Negotiating Committee members. “We can be proud of this collective effort that has managed to highlight our most valuable asset—the unity of our pilot group.”

Air Transat pilots announced on February 23 that they reached a tentative agreement with management on a new five-year contract that included significant improvements. Union leaders and the airline came to terms after more than a year of direct negotiations and federal conciliations.

The new collective agreement takes effect immediately and becomes amendable on April 30, 2020.

Air Transat’s 524 pilots operate a fleet of A310-300s, A330-200s and -300s, and B737-700s and -800s based in Montreal, Que.; Toronto, Ont.; and Vancouver, B.C.
