Hawaiian Pilots Elect New Officer Team

McLEAN, Va.—Hawaiian Airlines pilots of the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA) have elected new officers to lead their Master Executive Council (MEC) for a three-year term.

The pilot group reelected Capt. Larry Payne as MEC chair, current MEC secretary-treasurer Capt. Mathias Lundblad was elected MEC vice chair, and F/O Sean Lee was elected MEC secretary-treasurer.

“This is a strong officer group, and one that I hope will lead us to our next contract,” said Capt. Payne. “We are committed to bringing home an excellent agreement that improves pilot quality of life and keeps pace with agreements at other airlines.”

The new officers will assume their duties on March 1, 2022 and serve until February 28, 2025. The Hawaiian pilots opened negotiations six months ago; their contract becomes amendable on July 1, 2022.

Founded in 1931, ALPA is the largest airline pilot union in the world and represents more than 61,000 pilots at 38 U.S. and Canadian airlines. Visit the ALPA website at alpa.org or follow us on Twitter @ALPAPilots.
