ALPA Recognizes NATCA President Paul Rinaldi at BOD

ALPA recognized Paul Rinaldi, president of NATCA, for his numerous contributions to aviation safety and security.

October 20, 2014 - The Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA) recognized Paul Rinaldi, president of the National Air Traffic Controllers Association, for NATCA’s partnership with ALPA and his numerous contributions to aviation safety and security. Capt. Lee Moak, ALPA president, personally thanked Paul at the biannual Board of Directors meeting in Hollywood, Fla., on October 20.

Moak praised Rinaldi for his vision and leadership, calling him a “true ALPA ally” who works “tirelessly and selflessly to open channels of communication and share information and resources with ALPA and other industry stakeholders.”

“I’m honored and humbled,” Rinaldi said. “ALPA and NATCA have always had a relationship, but under this leadership, we’ve built a collaborative partnership. We’re on the same side. No one could beat us back.”

Under Rinaldi’s leadership, NATCA has worked together with ALPA to keep aviation issues—including stable funding for key improvements to our nation’s airspace—on the radar in Washington, D.C. And he’s done it, said Capt. Moak, “without thought of personal gain or benefit of any kind whatsoever.”
