January 31, 2013 - ALPA president Capt. Lee Moak seized the opportunity to articulate the union’s strong opposition to the European Union’s emissions trading scheme in a letter to the editor published today by the New York Times. In the letter, Moak characterized the EU’s scheme as a unilateral attempt to tax U.S. airlines at a time when our airlines are already overtaxed and competing with heavily state-backed foreign carriers.
