October 29, 2012 - Hurricane Sandy, one of the largest storms ever to hit the United States, is battering the East Coast with torrential rains and fierce winds. Many of the 60 million residents in the storm’s path are facing potential home damage, extended power outages, and the dangers of widespread flooding. In addition, nine states in this region have declared a state of emergency.
